Public Figurehood in the Digital Age

Abstract
The concept of "public figurehood" has been explored most extensively in the context of defamation law. We argue that profound changes in the media have rendered much of the existing law obsolete. We do not develop an entirely new standard, however, but update an earlier framework by Justice Brennan.
