Abstract

This draft, part of a special issue of the William and Mary Journal of Women and the Law Vol. XVIII, reflects on the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell and takes the opportunity of DADT's demise to question the gay rights movement's strategies for institutional inclusion. The article also gives emphasis to the effects of U.S. foreign policy and international humanitarian law on gays abroad, raising pointed questions of conscience for gay and lesbian service members.
