Abstract
On September 16, 2011, President Obama signed the America Invents Act (AIA) into law, years after Congress and U.S. industry began their efforts to overhaul the U.S. patent system in 2004. This paper outlines the most important aspects of AIA that will affect interests of European patent owners for their patent procurement and enforcement in the United States.
