Abstract

In this short paper, I disentangle 5 different ways in which we can conceptualize dilemmas in our secular age. These dilemmas range from theoretical to practical and are the following: the cosmic, the epistemic, the democratic, the integration and the neutrality dilemmas. I attempt to give an illustration for each one of these dilemmas and I attempt to explain that each one of them has to do with a different understanding of secularism.

Keywords: secularism, dilemmas, neutrality, democracy, cosmic, religion, law, politics, epistemology, constitutions, society
