Abstract

A panel at the 105th Annual Meeting of the American Society of International Law discussed the International Court of Justice’s long-awaited Advisory Opinion on Kosovo's Declaration of Independence, including its impact on the international law of secession, statehood, self-determination, and the interpretation and effect of U.N. Security Council Resolutions. The panel was chaired by Ralph Wilde (UCL), and included Anne Peters (Basel), Marko Milanovic (Nottingham), and Qerim Qerimi (Prishtina and Harvard). These are the uncorrected proofs of this panel discussion as it will appear in the Proceedings of the 105th (2011) Annual Meeting of the American Society of International Law.
