Abstract

Chapter XI of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 comprises of only one section called section 144 and contains comprehensive and exhaustive law to cater for a temporary situation till proper and legal measures are taken to safeguard and preserve the life and property of the public. This is an emergency action. This action is also under the law. The law is contained in section 144 Cr. P. C. This section empowers the Zila Nazim and the Provincial Government to meet a grave situation which has erupted or is likely to erupt and if not controlled by taking measures immediately, it may cause the situation mentioned in section 144 Cr. P. C.
