Abstract
Islamic finance is growing at 15 percent annually and will exceed 2 trillion in 2015. Flush capital in the Muslim world attracts and induces many money managers and financial institutions, whether they are from the Arab or western world, to offer Shariah-compliant assets that fit these Muslim religious preferences. This panel will shed light on what Islamic finance is and current empirical literature on Islamic banking and finance.
