This study explores several contemporary letters about the Jewish scholar Baruch Spinoza. It will ask and answer several underlying questions in order to illuminate a more lucid portrait of Spinoza and his philosophy. Specifically, this analysis will highlight the explicit points, underlying assumptions, target audience, and historical reliability evident in these correspondences.
