This paper is divided into three stages. In the first part, discussions of the decision making process and streamlining this process through the use of models is emphasized. Another issue discussed in the next part deals with the analysis of how the models can help senior managers deal with the challenges facing them. It also includes explanations of why the models are widely used in strategic management. The next phase of this paper includes a description of the Value Chain Model, which has been carefully and individually characterized and shown in practice on the example of Apple, and IKEA. The last part includes synthetic views, the author’s criticism on the Value Chain model, and present the strengths and weaknesses.
