AIDS/HIV Knowledge, Attitude and Beliefs of Adolescents of Pakistan

Abstract
HIV or AIDS is a major threat for humanity in the world especially in developing countries. Globally millions of people are suffering from this disease. Adolescents of developing countries have partial knowledge about HIV/AIDS. Almost all developing countries face the same dilemma. The awareness level of Pakistan about this syndrome isn’t satisfactory. The present study was perform to investigated the awareness level and beliefs about AIDS/HIV of adolescents after media and internet revolution in Pakistan and analyze the adolescent level of knowledge about AIDS/HIV in colleges of Pakistan. One thousand and five hundred and forty five randomly selected Pakistan College students were selected from 8 different cities of Sindh province. Twenty two questions asked in the survey and results showed that adolescents had partial knowledge about AIDS and its related issues. They need to clarify their beliefs and strengthen their knowledge about AIDS which help themselves, their peers, relatives and society from this hazard.
