Magic of Virtual Prototyping

Abstract

This paper mentions the significant steps made in the prototyping industry and explains the importance of virtual prototyping in the life of any design practitioner. Today, User Interface (UI) designers still rely on two dimensional, software generated or hand drawn interactive prototypes. The interface construction tools used by the designers are more of a hindrance than any benefit during the early stages of interface design and through this paper I try to demonstrate that by using virtual prototyping one can easily exploit the advantages of both graphical user interface (GUI) and tangible user interface (TUI). Virtual prototyping allows for more efficient and intuitive manipulation of a 3D virtual model by implementing easy adjustments of many parameters.
