Abstract
The paper presents the main human rights protection systems analysing the basic documents and their mechanisms. Comparing the competence of the courts, the functioning of the mechanisms, the differences regarding the right to address petitions, and the admissibility criteria, it is possible to have a better understanding of the regional human rights systems and cultures.
