Abstract

After Professor Ribstein approved final edits to his Michigan State Law Review Essay, E-Marriage and the Market for Marriage Law, he unexpectedly died. With the permission of Ann Ribstein, The Michigan State Law Review published the Essay in the form that had been finally approved by Professor Ribstein. The law review included an accompanying tribute to Professor Ribstein, prepared by Professor Mae Kuykendall. Expressing how much he has meant to her, to many others, and to the Michigan State Law Review, Professor Kuykendall describes his many merits as a scholar and colleague. She discusses Professor Ribstein's work on the depiction of business in film, which he saw as a source of popular misunderstanding about business and, as a result, of bad policy and punitive prosecutions of business executives for business reversals.
