Abstract

The author applauds the passing of the ADA as acknowledgment that our laws have begun to reveal that human worth transcends disability, just as it does race and gender. He see the growth of federal and state laws forbidding discrimination against people with disabilities as a tribute to a movement which culminated in the ADA's passage, which requires access to most aspects of public life for people with disabilities and recognizes their rightful place alongside their fellow citizens.

Keywords: ADA, equality
