Abstract
This paper looks at Italy's financial growth since 1950. We study the changes in household wealth, corporate indebtedness, the balance sheet structure of financial institutions, especially banks. At the end the paper summarises the main trends in the evolution of financial assets and liabilities in over fifty-five years.
