Abstract

This article examines the Community for Democracy and Rights of Nations. It is an organization created in 2006 by three quasi-states located in the post-Soviet area: Transnistria, Abkhazia and South Ossetia with strong support of the Russian Federation. The author presents the origin, aims, basic principles, membership issues, organs and activity of the Community. He concludes that, although the cooperation within this organization is quite weak, it is to some extent effective, especially from its members’ and Russia’s point of view.

Keywords: Transnistria, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Russia, international organization
