Abstract

Schumpeter?s theory of "creative destruction" is a dynamic perspective on modern capitalism. Schumpeter argues that innovation destroys existing technologies and creates rival products. The theory is a powerful tool to analyze the evolution of products and markets. However, the theory is even more powerful when we examine technological development within a political-economic context.
