Abstract
The objective of this study is to analyze electronic commerce as a competitive factor for micro-, small-, and mid-sized companies, in the commercial sector in the State of Durango. To achieve the objective, interviews with business owners of this sector were developed to gather the necessary information to obtain an outlook of the situation. We examine electronic commerce to determine if it is a competitive factor for the MIPyMES. During the research we found that electronic commerce is seldom applied among MIPyMES. Lines of investigation were projected that aim to stimulate specific aspects for electronic commerce, with the goal of providing effective application, so that MIPyMES, are in a position to have a competitive advantages for their development.
