Abstract
This paper examines how changes in the business model have allowed brokers to attract new legions of retail traders able to trade financial products over the internet from the comfort of their homes. But are there distractions at home and how do traders cope with the solitude? And what of the socio-economic implications - is there an exodus of knowledge workers deserting city institutions for a life in the country?
