Abstract

Mobile payment, which refers to a payment service conducted via mobile devices, has been a key driver of socio-economic development in emerging markets. Factors such as advancement in technology, socioeconomic conditions and high penetration of mobile devices have driven m-payment development in some emerging markets. This paper explores the key enablers and barriers to the development of mobile payment ecosystem in emerging markets.
