Abstract

The economic effects of federal milk marketing orders have not been evaluated to date. The authors use data from New Jersey to show that the costs to consumers of federal milk marketing orders can be estimated with modest effort and expense, suggesting that Congress should pursue a full-scale quantitative analysis of their benefits and costs.
