Abstract
This article, authored by Dr. Zachary D. Kaufman, was solicited and is published by the Council on Foreign Relations. The article describes the book Social Entrepreneurship in the Age of Atrocities: Changing Our World (edited by Dr. Kaufman and published by Edward Elgar Publishing, which has published many of the leading books on social entrepreneurship) and highlights three lessons drawn from the book about the importance of: (1) engaging and empowering locals, (2) triggering a domino effect of indigenous social entrepreneurship, and (3) sharing experiences.
