Abstract

Effective implementation of the privatization strategy of Saudi Arabia entails some challenges that need to be addressed carefully. A number of lingering issues related to the implementation of the privatization strategy of the Kingdom includes: valuation of public enterprises under imperfect capital market, the debt issue of public enterprises, land use restrictions and labor issues, securing efficient tendering process, and a corporate governance system that direct and control the behavior of management after privatization.
