Abstract

Geo Network, operating in Pakistan, during November and December 2012 launched an educational promo campaign with a borrowed slogan from the movement of Pakistan. Geo completely altered its slogan, shifting from a God-centered view of Pakistan to that based on materialistic concept of modern education.

This short essay explores the implications of this message for the consciousness of Muslim mind in Pakistan, with a critique on the elevation of education or instruction to the level of Sacred, and critique on modern education based on a secular and/or materialistic world-view in the light of a paper by Dr Muhammad Iqbal and other Muslim philosopher(s).
