Abstract
Yan (2012) shows why we need an internet-connected financial calculator. This 2-page document could be served as an internet appendix. We could use R as a financial calculator for many functions, such as PV, FV, PV of annuity, to estimate effective rates, beta and more. I assume that a user has no knowledge about R. Within 20 minutes, including the time used to download and install R, a new user should be able to use this “calculator.”
