Abstract

This article briefly reviews the scholarly research on the news media’s portrayal of corrections and the challenges reporters face in covering this part of the criminal justice system. It then presents results from interviews conducted with the handful of American print media reporters who specialize in or have focused a significant part of their careers on covering corrections.
