Abstract

Higher Education is entering uncharted waters in the UK. In this paper we bring together a number of data sources to reflect on who studies politics and who teaches politics. Are we a discipline that embraces diversity, inclusiveness and equality? Are certain groups/sectors of society unrepresented or under-represented in terms of the discipline? Is there a ‘glass ceiling’ or ‘leakiness’ as some have suggested? We then move on to ask questions about the duties and functions of professional associations, using the PSA UK as an example.
