Abstract
The present study is developed due to the necessity of understanding the proceedidings undertaken by society in order to fight cartels in the regulated sector of fuel in Brazil. This work also demonstrates the technical concept of efficiency from the cartels of gas price causing damage to the consumers.
This study shows that the fight against cartels poses some problems such as: (i) the difficulty of quickly making the needed alterations of Antitrust Law; (i) The troubles that the Administrative organs have to accomplish a permanent fiscalization; e (iii) the lack of civil punishments in order to inhibit the practices of abuse profits.
