Abstract

The proliferation of techno-parks world-wide has spread to China in a big way. Managers and founders of these techno-parks want to know how they stack up against the core dynamics that made Silicon Valley, California 8 times more powerful as a contributor to overall USA GDP than the East Coast MIT-Harvard complex. This paper reports the theory and practice components that generated an assessment framework of 17 by 81 dimensions, which in turn was used to generate 306 assessment instrument items being widely employed now in China techno-parks.

Keywords: demand, cultures of development, Silicon Valley dynamics, flows-homes model, clusters
