Abstract
This article seeks to demonstrate that the premise of the holding of the Supreme Court in World-Wide Volkswagen v. Woodson, 444 U.S. 286 (1980) – that the authority of the states of the United States is territorially limited – is correct, but that the scope of the limitations announced by the Court does not follow from that premise.
