Abstract
Governor George Romney signed legislation creating Michigan’s new Court of Appeals on June 11, 1964. A primary election for its first judges was set for that September. The purpose of this brief article, published in the August 1964 Michigan Bar Journal, was to acquaint lawyers, and the electorate in general, with the jurisdiction of the court and how its judges would be selected. The author was legal counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee, where the legislation originated.
