How to Analyze the Universities in Ukraine: Guide for Applicants from Secondary School

Abstract
Government institutions (for example, the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science) and the mass-media do not provide the objective information to the younger generation, which goes to universities. The information, which universities provide, is also incorrect, as a rule. There are many of university rankings today. However, these ratings do not take into account that the University may be able to prepare of students for some professions at a high level. But for all other professions the University is at a low level. How the graduate of secondary school can to distinguish these high-level professions?
We have prepared the guide for the younger generation, which is entering to the universities in Ukraine. The guide describes: characteristics, which can to help for analyzing of information about the University; method of analysis of information about the University; the basic myths about the Universities in Ukraine, which replicated in the mass-media; an example of analysis: the University chosen, in which the authors teach. Graduates of secondary schools and students, who read our material, noted its high usefulness. We believe that this material will be useful for a wide range of scientists in the field of Education. In fact, this guide describes a method for analyzing of the level of development of separate professions within the University. Perspective areas for co-operation the foreign Universities with Ukrainian Universities can be determined using the method described in this guide.
