Abstract

If bipartisan political support for a referendum recognition of Indigenous Australia can be maintained, if the review process is robust and if public sentiment gains some momentum, then the opportunity to recognise the special and essential place of Indigenous people in our constitutional and legal framework has arrived. This article reviews the legal issues and developments in the constitutional reform debate.
