Abstract

The Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA) is an industrial organization whose objective is to represent international companies trading in grain, animal feedstuffs, pulses, and rice. It is active in reviewing agricultural trade issues that interest its members, and has also developed a set of standardized contract forms (the so-called "GAFTA Contracts") that have become the norm in global grain trade. It also provides its members with dispute resolution services, such as arbitration, and a trade insurance scheme. GAFTA is incorporated under British law as a company limited by guarantee, registered in England under Company No. 1006456. It is headquartered in London and has offices in Kiev and Beijing.
