Abstract
This chapter compares the technological catch up paths of the semiconductor industry in China, Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan. Using the sectoral innovation approach the chapter shows significant variations and extent of catch up enjoyed by these countries in the semiconductor industry such that it supports the evolutionary argument that the timing, industries and locations matter when analyzing technological catch up of industries.
