The following article focuses on some key aspects of the problem: - statistic data; - brief data on the history of German Lutherans and Catholics; - legal status of German Lutherans and Catholics and the specifics of the denomination state policy in relation to the Lutherans and Catholics; - participation of German Lutherans and Catholics in political, cultural, social and economic life of Russia; - German Catholics and Lutherans’ matrimonial relations.
