Abstract

In 2050, the number of people living in cities will be almost as large as the world’s entire population today. That’s why we need completely new approaches to be taken in order to make our cities to be a Smart City. Smart Cities gained importance as a means of making ICT enabled services and applications available to the citizens, and authorities that are part of a city’s system. It aims at increasing citizens’ quality of life, and improving the efficiency and quality of the services provided by governing entities and businesses. Smart City is a type of city that uses new technologies to make them more livable, functional, competitive and modern through the use of new technologies, the promotion of innovation and knowledge management. Cities today are facing significant challenges including increasing populations, infrastructures, and declining budgets.
