Abstract

The study illustrates the role and involvement of the Constitutional Court of Romania in achieving effective protection of basic rights and fundamental freedoms. In this respect, it presents relevant case-law of the Constitutional Court, highlighting constant solutions and elements that constitute a factor of continuity and stability, as well as re-considerations of case-law in some cases, sometimes due to the reception of the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights.
