Abstract

The theme of this chapter is the Macau Court of Final Appeal (Tribunal de Ultima Instancia or TUI) of the Macau Special Administrative Region (SAR) of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). It provides an overview and discussion of its role, activity and impact on the legal system of Macau since its establishment on 20 December 1999 upon the transfer of sovereignty. The chapter provides a discussion of its general activity as well as in a number of special areas of the law.
