Abstract

This brief essay is a response to the statement, "Evangelicals and Catholics Together On Law: The Lord of Heaven and Earth." While affirming the statement in broad strokes, this essay highlights the particular challenge that claims to catholicity and tradition represent for Protestants and Catholics alike, with particular attention to the issues of natural law, subsidiarity, and the role of civil government.

Keywords: evangelicals and catholics together, natural law, subsidiarity, Christian legal thought
