Abstract
This poster discusses the possibilities of a digital edition of the medieval transmission of the High German prose translation of the Middle Dutch ‘Vierde Partie’ of the Spiegel Historiael.
Main objective of this edition project is to provide international research with a diplomatic edition of the medieval High German sources that contain the ‘Vierde Partie’ encoded in TEI-conformant XML. The web interface of the edition will offer the text of each source separately and allow to show variant readings. This material will be available Open Access as downloads (PDF, XML) to stimulate further research. Additional desirable features like facsimiles, a reading text, or a translation, are discussed under the aspect of added value vs. resources.
