MySQL Extensions for Scientific Data Management

This report introduces the MySQL plugins implemented to handle the data cubes stored as binary arrays in the DBMS. Some application-level examples related to the proposed userdefined functions for MySQL are also presented.
The research leading to these results has received funding from the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research and the Italian Ministry of Environment, Land and Sea under the GEMINA project.
