Abstract

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is the largest selling fluoropolymers worldwide, accounting for about 60% of the demand for fluoropolymers. After almost six decades of its discovery, PTFE continues to be explored for application in different industries due to several inherent features such as high chemical-resistance, low friction, high insulation, longer life, inflammability, non-stickiness, and wide degree of temperature ranges. The compound is expected to maintain its dominant position in the fluoropolymers market in future buyer by emerging opportunities in various end-use applications including industrial filtration and chemical processing. Further, demand for PTFE is expected to gain pace following growing demand in applications such as fuel cells, photovoltaic modules, and batteries.
