Языковые барьеры в Европейском Союзе (Language Barriers in the European Union)

Abstract

Автор объясняет негативную экономическую роль языкового разнообразия в Европейском Союзе. Практика переводов в ЕС слишком политизирована и не является эффективной с экономической точки зрения. Более того, далеко не все широко распространенные в Европе языки имеют в ЕС официальный статус. Заканчивается статья предложениями по трансформации языковой политики ЕС.

The author explains the negative economic role of language diversity in the European Union. The translation practice of the EU is too politicized not efficient in economic terms. Moreover, not all wide-spread European languages have official status in the EU. Some suggestions for transformation of the EU language policy are presented at the end of the article.
