Abstract

This paper was presented in connection with the LSU 43rd Annual Estate Planning Institute. The paper examines the laws regulating end-of-life decisions in Louisiana with comparisons to other jurisdictions. The paper discusses how to draft appropriate end-of-life documents that are tailored to a client's unique and individual needs while at the same time ensuring enforceability of those documents. The paper includes several model forms for Louisiana practitioners.
