This Chak De call is designed to address our response to the ensuing ‘shortage in foundry professionals,’ and thus an urgent call to develop a road map for designing treatment to the foundry Man Power Development (fMPD). The need of development of competencies involving innovation, quality, utilising tools and new technology in our foundrymen is becoming explicit thanks to the growth in production volumes of Cast products. However the major share is being snatched elsewhere. It requires a thorough Knowledge or rather meta k-nology (i.e. science of knowledge) to make breakthrough enhancement in our capatencies (capacity competencies).
This part of TQOP series addresses man power development needs of the manufacturing industry in general, and foundry industry in particular.
The end objectives include fulfilling SHEQ-PDCM, Customer satisfaction (as a part of Quality imperatives), and also achievement of revenue goals; the alignment of which is strategically planned ab initio. All one needs is a Chak De (breakthrough) motivation. The triple need is to Invest (e.g. in machines), Innovate (say, processes), and Incubate (people).
