Abstract

In ever increasing intense competition among banks, this paper describes demographic status of Mobile banking users among public and private sector banks in Indore. Particularly, it seeks to examine the demographic profile of mobile banking users. Using information drawn from the survey of 478 mobile banking users of various public and private sector banks of Indore, during the month of December, 2011 to March, 2012, The results show that nearly 66.52% users are public sector banks users in Indore and only 33.48% users are using mobile banking services of private sector banks. Among public sector banks out of 66.52% users, 77.15% users are male and only 22.85% users are females, where as among private sector banks 81.57% users are male and only 18.43% users were females. Thus percentage analysis indicates that mobile banking is more popular amongst public sector banks as compared to private banks in Indore. But at the same time mobile banking is more popular among male users of both the banks.
