Today Business Intelligence is a way of improving business performance and not just a technology to implement and to put in maintenance mode. The real challenge in a business intelligence implementation project means not to finish, but rather, to deliver a certain amount of value and functionality within a predefined period.
For a while synonymous with querying and reporting, business intelligence have also requested a special need for analytical and performance measurement applications. Thus the familiar concepts of strategic maps, dashboards and scorecards have really found their place within any business environment. Within the educational field, they also need to mix the ad-hoc graphical and grid reporting facilities with scorecards used to provide effectiveness views in order to satisfy the most complex informational needs of the supervisors.
