Abstract

In this year-end review, we discuss 12 decisions: Consolidated Fastfrate, Hutterian Brethren, Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority, Ontario v. Criminal Lawyers’ Assn., Grant v. Torstar, R. v. National Post, Toronto Star Newspapers Ltd. v. Canada, Nguyen v. Quebec, Khadr (No. 2), R. v. Nasogaluak, R. v. Conway and Vancouver v. Ward. Most of these decisions settle urgent issues in expressive freedom and the courts’ remedial powers under section 24(1) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
