Abstract

This paper analyzes the link between professional practice and scientific work in public administration in order to corroborate why they are mutually complementary. Especially highlighting that the practice does not mean simply the execution of a mandate or a nor chaotic neither random exercise, but a methodical performance that follow established procedures through rational mechanisms, which led to understand that the professional and scientific work are two modes of knowledge production in public administration that are related and are mutually complementary.
